Chronic Research Probes

Building upon the sucesses of our acute research probes, we are thrilled to offer the chronic probes for research.  The front end of the chronic probes (the penetrating shanks) is basically the same as that of the acutes, but the chronic probes have an integrated silicon ribbon cable that is flexible in the direction that is normal to the brain surface.  Although our probes are almost plug and play, surgical technique is especially important for the success of the chronic experiments.  For this reason, NeuroNexus requires all first time users to purchase a startup training kit. 

NeuroNexus currently offers chronic probes of 16 and 32 eletrical sites in one single probe.  To keep the foot print minimal, Omnetic NANO connectors are used. The package is protected with epoxy coating for insulation.
